Syrian arrested in human smuggling investigationOn Tuesday, January 10, the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee (KMar) arrested a 31-year-old Syrian in a house in Bodegraven on suspicion of involvement in human smuggling. Earlier, the KMar received information about the suspect, who was staying at the AZC in Overloon at that time. According to that information, the man could order false documents, including Syrian passports, doctor's certificates and property certificates, through relatives abroad and thus help others in people smuggling.
