Kamala Harris Selects Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as Vice Presidential Running Mate

CNN first reported the selection on Tuesday. It comes as Harris seeks to solidify her position against former President Donald Trump, who has already named Senator JD Vance (R-OH) as his running mate, and the Democratic National Convention’s confirmation of her as nominee. The Hill then confirmed CNN’s initial reports.

Harris and her newly chosen running mate are set to embark Tuesday on a campaign tour across key states essential for a Democratic victory in November like Wisconsin, Michigan, Arizona, and Nevada.The official announcement and subsequent rally in Philadelphia on Tuesday are expected to set the tone for the remainder of the campaign as the Democratic ticket gears up to challenge the Republican Party in what promises to be a fierce electoral battle.
