President Donald Trump was found guilty on 34 counts of falsification of business documents in New York on Thursday, and while he was released on his own recognizance, the sentencing date has been set for July 11.

Judge Juan Merchan said that the sentencing would be at 10 am on that day and instructed the defendant's attorneys to schedule a probation report. Motions, Merchan said, must end by June 27. When the bail status was requested, Trump was allowed to leave without bail.

The judge had instructed the jury that they did not have to agree on the crimes that Trump was guilty of in order to find him unanimously guilty.

That date is only days before the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee when Trump is set to be officially nominated as the GOP candidate for the presidency. Trump is expected to announce his VP pick during that convention as well.

After the verdict was read in court, Trump spoke outside the courthouse, saying "The real verdict is going to be November 5th by the people." His attorneys have already vowed to appeal.

"This was a rigged trial by a conflicted judge who is corrupt. It's a rigged trial, a disgrace. They wouldn't give us a venue change. We were at 5 percent or 6 percent in this district or this area," Trump said.

Each count against Trump carries the potential for four years in prison, meaning that if he is sentenced to the maximum penalty for each class E felony for which he was found guilty, Trump faces the potential for 134 years in prison.
Trump faces three other criminal cases. Two brought by the federal Department of Justice and another in Georgia.
