President Trump told Britain's Daily Telegraph he is strongly considering withdrawing the U.S. from NATO, calling the alliance a "paper tiger" after not a single European member responded to America's call for support in securing the Middle East against Iranian threats.

The President pointed to the U.S. rushing to Europe's aid over Ukraine — despite no treaty obligation — as an example of the loyalty he expected in return, saying "they weren't there for us."

Secretary of State Marco Rubio echoed the frustration Monday, noting that Spain, a NATO member the U.S. is pledged to defend, denied American forces the use of its airspace and bases during the Iran operation and "bragged about it."

President Trump specifically called out the UK, saying "you don't even have a navy," and criticized PM Keir Starmer as focused on "costly windmills" rather than defense.

The UK has pledged to lead a coalition to secure the Strait of Hormuz but refuses to engage while the Iran conflict remains active. Rubio said the U.S. would have to "reexamine" NATO membership once the operation concludes.
