Woman, 82, attacked with flamethrower at Israel protest DIES as cops upgrade charges against suspect

Karen Diamond, an 82-year-old Holocaust survivor and community volunteer, was severely injured on June 1, 2025 in a violent attack while participating in a peaceful "Run for Their Lives" protest on Pearl Street Mall in Boulder, Colorado. The protest advocated for the release of Israeli hostages held by Hamas.

The attacker, Mohamed Sabry Soliman, a 45-year-old Egyptian national living illegally in the U.S., allegedly used homemade flamethrowers, throwing Molotov cocktails while shouting "Free Palestine."

Diamond suffered critical burns and passed away on June 25, 2025, due to her injuries.

The complaint now contains the 2 counts of first degree murder, 52 counts of attempted first degree murder, 8 counts of first degree assault, 18 counts of attempted first degree assault, 2 counts of using an incendiary device, 16 counts of attempted use of an incendiary device and one count of animal cruelty.'
