Trump’s Terrible Week Ends With Criminal Charges

The Jan 6 committee of Democrats and Trump-haters are finally wrapping up their investigation as the events at the Capitol on that day just as Congress winds down for the year. In 2023 a new Republican-led House will be sworn in, changing the game that is the race to find criminal fault with former President Trump.

Even though the investigation has gone on for two years, the only persons having been legally found at fault and charged for any crimes are those who refused to acknowledge subpoenas from the committee. Earlier this year the panel voted to subpoena Trump but he has declined to appear before the committee. Trump has declined to spend time on the committee’s agenda, and has openly called its members “political thugs” who are engaged in a “witch hunt.”

Trump recently posted, “THE GREATEST WITCH HUNT OF ALL TIME CONTINUES, OVER AND OVER AGAIN, & THE PEOPLE OF THIS COUNTRY AREN’T GOING TO TAKE IT MUCH LONGER. A GIANT POLITICAL SCAM!!!

The January 6th committee, created by Democrats to study the origins of the riot that interrupted the certification of the 2020 presidential election, has focused on blaming Trump for anything that happened that day at the capitol building.

The panel holds its final meeting of the year on Monday. Its report on its findings will be released on Wednesday of next week as it wraps up its work before it’s disbanded. At its Monday meeting, the panel members will vote on recommending charges against the former president, including insurrection; obstruction of an official proceeding; and conspiracy to defraud the United States government, Politico reported.

The January 6th committee will urge the Justice Department to pursue at least three criminal charges against Donald Trump, including insurrection, according to a new report on Friday. An October report said prosecutors at the Biden DOJ believe “there is sufficient evidence” to charge Trump in that area but the group “has not made a formal recommendation” to Attorney General Merrick Garland, who has ultimate approval.

It seems that recommendation is forthcoming, although the recommendation itself is merely and opinion with no legal weight, and legally Garland does not have to consider it. Garland would have to approve an additional investigation or charges as well if he did move to action on the opinion.

The panel will offer as justification for its recommendation U.S. District Court Judge Amit Mehta’s February ruling saying Trump’s language plausibly incited violence on Jan. 6, 2021. Trump addressed his supporters on the national Ellipse – the area right outside the White House – on the morning of January 6th. Later in the day a group of people claiming to be supporters of the president marched to the Capitol and broke into the building allegedly to stop the certification of Biden’s win in the electoral college.

It has been reported that in fact some of the offending people were not supporters of the president, but were there to cause trouble. These reports have not extensively been investigated.

The committee says that Trump was pressuring his then-Vice President Mike Pence to throw the election results back to the states in an attempt to overturn the election results. However, strangely, as a key witness, Pence did not testify. A number of other top Trump officials did – including Pence’s chief of staff Marc Short, his daughter Ivanka Trump, his son-in-law Jared Kushner, former Attorney General Bill Barr, and Roger Stone.

The panel will also cite the failed Democrat attempt to impeach Trump.

Officials, in its 17 months of investigation, collected more than 140,000 documents, and conducted more than 1,000 interviews with Trump aides, rioters and officials who they claim were directly or indirectly involved in the riot. The panel itself is not bipartisan, since is made up of Democrats and Trump-haters such as the only two Republicans on it – Reps. Liz Cheney of Wyoming and Adam Kinzinger of Illinois. Both are longtime Trump critics. As an incumbent, Cheney lost her primary after Trump endorsed her opponent and Kinzinger has opted not to seek another term in Congress.

Monday’s final hearing will be its 10th. Republicans take control of the House on January 3rd and are expected to dismantle the panel that was dominated by Democratic lawmakers, Daily Mail reports.

Nonplussed by the Jan 6 committee and the DOJ so far fruitless “investigation” of the documents taken in the raid at the Trump family home in Florida, former President Donald Trump has been announcing his candidacy for the Oval Office in 2024, but is not taking the attacks lightly. He plans, if elected, to go on the offensive in several major areas in the name of transparency and freedom.

Trump recently released a video sharing his intentions regarding the released “Twitter files” when he is once again elected. Trump indicates his plan for clearing the federal government of anyone engaging in illegal activity. “I will order the DOJ to investigate all parties [in the federal government] involved in online sensorship…”

Why is Trump not afraid of the swamp?

"when they come after me, people who love freedom rally around me"

I said it two years ago; the J6 rally was a message to the deep state about Trump's ability to rally his supporters to his cause.

Any cause.
Anywhere
At any time.

The swamp understood the unspoken message he was sending. That's why they imprisoned those who showed up.

The final showdown is coming.
