Sinclaire caved - Sinclair Broadcast Group said that it will resume broadcasting “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on its ABC affiliate stations Friday night, ending a boycott that began more than a week ago following the late-night host’s comments about the right-wing reaction to the Charlie Kirk shooting.
The decision affects viewers in nearly 30 markets — including D.C.; Columbus, Ohio; and St. Louis — who have been unable to watch Kimmel’s show on their local ABC stations since it returned Tuesday night.
The company said its decision to replace the program was “independent of any government interaction or influence.”
Sinclair, a Maryland-based company long viewed as ideologically conservative, said it’s had “constructive” discussions with Disney-owned ABC and proposed “a network-wide independent ombudsman.” The company said Disney and ABC have not yet adopted its proposals.
