Deportation Win for Trump Admin: Criminals Sent to South Sudan

Bericht door noumoe »

On Independence Day, the Trump administration deported eight men convicted of heinous crimes like murder, sexual assault, and robbery to South Sudan, landing late Friday, July 4, 2025, Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin announced. Shackled and guarded, the deportees—from Cuba, Mexico, Laos, Myanmar, South Sudan, and Vietnam—faced weeks of legal delays that stranded ICE officers in dangerous conditions in Djibouti.

This deportation underscores President Trump’s tough immigration stance, pushing countries, even volatile ones like South Sudan, to accept deportees, regardless of origin. “A district judge cannot dictate the national security and foreign policy of the United States,” McLaughlin said, hailing the move as a victory for American safety.
