Democratic Delegation to Visit Southern Border for Oversight of Trump Administration Policies

A group of Democratic lawmakers will visit the southern border on Friday to conduct oversight of Trump administration border policies. The visit will take place at Border Patrol’s San Diego sector, according to Fox News’ Bill Melugin.

The delegation will be led by Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS), Ranking Member of the House Homeland Security Committee. The goal of the visit is to observe and assess the impact of policies firsthand.

The following members will accompany Rep. Thompson:
• Rep. Lou Correa (D-CA), Ranking Member of the Border Security & Enforcement Subcommittee
• Rep. Delia Ramirez (D-IL), Committee Member
• Rep. LaMonica McIver (D-NJ), Ranking Member of the Transportation & Maritime Security Subcommittee

• Rep. Sara Jacobs (D-CA)

A Border Patrol source just sent me this photo showing Congressman @BennieGThompson at the Chula Vista Border Patrol station. @FoxNews reached out to the Dems to inquire about covering the visit, as have other media outlets, and we were told it is not public. The Dems say their visit is to "conduct oversight" of the Trump admin's border policies.
