Buckley Carlson, 28, the son of Tucker Carlson, has departed his role as deputy press secretary for Vice President JD Vance to launch his own political consulting firm, according to Politico.

A Vance official said Buckley informed the VP's office of his intention to leave back in December and "stayed on for several months to ensure a smooth transition," suggesting the exit predates the current controversy.

The timing is nonetheless notable, landing squarely in the middle of a highly public feud between President Trump and Tucker Carlson over the Iran war.
