Trump’s DOJ Sues Fulton County, Four States Over 2020 Election Ballots

The Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division filed a lawsuit Friday against Fulton County, Georgia, seeking access to voting records from the 2020 presidential election.

Fulton County is where President Donald Trump had faced election interference charges until recently. The lawsuit follows an October subpoena demanding ballots and related election materials from Fulton County. The county clerk’s office has not responded to the subpoena, according to the complaint.

The department also filed federal lawsuits against Colorado, Hawaii, Massachusetts and Nevada, accusing the states of failing to provide statewide voter registration lists upon request. The actions bring the total number of states sued to 18, along with Fulton County, Georgia.
