The 20-point plan, as Breitbart News has noted, would fulfill Israel’s goals of freeing the remaining hostages, as well as disarming Hamas and removing it from power. It also offers the prospect of a Palestinian state — if Hamas complies with the plan and the Palestinian Authority agrees to sweeping reforms of its policies and anti-Israel culture.

If Hamas does not agree, the plan allows Israel to continue fighting the terror group.

- IDF stays in most of Gaza after phase 1, over a third after phase 2; final buffer zone along perimeter, verified by US/IDF/ISF.

- Hamas amnesty requires weapon decommissioning; full destruction of tunnels/weapons sites, with buy-back/reintegration programs monitored independently.

The Times of Israel says this is a huge win for Israel.

Now… Egypt and Qatar, who are both ally’s are upset, as it complicates ceasefire negotiations they were mediating.

The Israeli military has shifted to defensive operations in Gaza after President Trump called on Israel to halt its strikes in the enclave, the IDF said in a statement on Saturday morning local time.

This is the closest that Israel and Hamas have come to ending the war since the October 7 attacks almost exactly two years ago.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered a halt to the operation to occupy Gaza City and a suspension of airstrikes to "prepare for the immediate implementation of the first phase of the Trump Plan for the immediate release of all hostages," his office said.

Trump said Friday in a Truth Social post that Israel should stop bombing Gaza "so that we can get the Hostages out safely and quickly." Trump stressed he now believes Hamas is "ready for a lasting PEACE."

Trump sends Jared Kushner, Steve Witkoff to expedite hostage release in Israel, Hamas war

Israeli and Hamas officials began indirect talks Monday in Egypt’s Sharm el-Sheikh on a U.S.-drafted plan to end the Gaza war, with both sides agreeing on most first-phase terms, including a ceasefire and hostage releases, as negotiations resume Tuesday.

Talks include Israeli negotiator Ron Dermer, Hamas’ Khalil al-Hayyah, U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff, and Jared Kushner, with Egyptian mediators leading separate meetings with each side.

Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and President Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner on Tuesday are expected to fly to Egypt, where they will oversee negotiations between Israel and Hamas and will not leave until a hostage release agreement is reached.

Trump met with the two men at the White House earlier Tuesday, where they reportedly briefed Trump and administration officials, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio, on indirect negotiations between Israel and Hamas and the latest information they've received from Egyptian, Qatari and Turkish mediators, sources told Axios.

The Trump administration duo is expected to land in Egypt early Wednesday morning and sources said they will not leave the Middle Eastern country until Hamas agrees to release the hostages and end its war with Israel.
