Elon Musk's xAI announced Monday it has won a $200 million ceiling contract with the Department of Defense, granting broad government access to its powerful AI tools in a strategic move to fortify America's defenses.

This initiative, led by the Pentagon's Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office, also includes parallel awards to Anthropic, Google, and OpenAI, prioritizing commercial innovations to preserve U.S. superiority amid global competition.

xAI's Grok model is now available for purchase through the General Services Administration schedule. "This allows every federal government department, agency, or office, to access xAI's frontier AI products," the company stated.
