FBI forces all employees to use LGBTQIA+ after directive from Bureau Equality diversity advisory committee

Former FBI agent turned whistleblower Kyle Seraphin shared an email sent to all FBI employees that instructs them to change the way they reference lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender persons and persons who identify with those gender identities and sexual orientations. This was important enough to the FBI to actually issue this directive.

"The FBI has officially adopted the LGBTQIA+ acronym in place of LGBTQ+. This change was proposed by the Bureau Equality, one of our nine Diversity Advisory Committees, and approved by FBI executive management to help promote a more welcoming workplace for members of our LGBTQIA+ community," FBI Communications instructed everyone.

LGBTQIA+ stands for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning, Intersex, Asexual/Aromantic, plus. The '+' represents other gender, sexual, and romantic identitied not covered by the letters of the acronym. More than 30 federal agencies," they write, "including the Department of Justice, use a form of the expanded acronym."

The guidance is "effective immediately" and the new, lengthier acronym describing sexual orientations, gender identities, and political identities, such as "queer," will be used "for all internal events, observances, and communications."

They go on to say that this will be used in "all US Intelligence Community products; and all external communications (social media posts, public reports, public announcements, etc.)"

"This is what the FBI is really about," Serpahin said.

The FBI pushes "diversity" in LGBTQIA+ reperesenation in their recruiting as well. In an Instagram post, they wrote "The FBI understands that the workforce is changing as vibrant and motivated younger generations start looking for career opportunities.

That is why we firmly believe in implementing diversity, equity, and inclusion across all departments at the FBI, and it starts with providing developmental opportunities for our interns.

"Today, we celebrate the incredible work ethic and enthusiasm that our interns add to our team and the world. Our interns bring fresh ideas and new perspectives that break down barriers and inspire us to be better, to do better, and to create a safer and more just future for all.

"At the Bureau, we are committed to nurturing the next generation and providing an experience for their careers to expand on. Set yourself apart. Learn more today at the link in our bio."
Earlier this year, the FBI released their "diversity report," saying that "the FBI needs people from different backgrounds, with varying experiences and perspectives. The Bureau values and leverages human difference and opinions to empower our FBI community to achieve its greatest potential."

They speak with favor on having increased women and "minority representation" as well as the increase in the number of female intelligence analysts.
