Twitter, then under the leadership of its former-CEO and co-founder Jack Dorsey, caved to left-wing demands that the President be suspended for inciting violence, despite the fact that Trump had authored several tweets calling for peaceful and non-violent protests. The next day, Trump made a speech condemning the reports of “violence, lawlessness, and mayhem” that had occurred around the Capitol. When Elon Musk took over Twitter on October 27, 2022 he indicated he would explore reinstating Trump’s Twitter account. The former President’s account was reinstated just under a month later on November 19, 2022 after Musk had asked Twitter users their opinion via a Twitter poll – 51.8 percent of participants supported reinstating the account that Jack Smith and Joe Biden’s DOJ now have access to.
