(Opinie) Democrat Introduces Bill To Stop Trump From Becoming House Speaker If He Is Not An Elected Representative

Democrats are terrified of Donald Trump and they show how terrified they are of him, and the prospect of him having power, every chance they get.

On Monday, Democrat Pennsylvania Rep. Brendan Boyle showed precisely how frightened he is of Trump when he introduced a new bill that directly targets him, Newsmax reported.

“The speaker of the U.S. House is second in the United States presidential line of succession. That Donald Trump’s name would even be tossed around as a potential speaker in the people’s house, should serve as an alarm bell that our current requirements need to be amended in the name of protecting our nation and our democracy,” the representative said of the bill that says a Speaker must be an elected member of the House, known as the MEMBERS Act.

“This legislation would establish that mandate in very clear and direct language, and it would serve as a check against those who would seek to undermine and derogate the authority and responsibilities of the speaker’s office,” he said.

The legislation is, in part, a response to a fundraising campaign by Florida Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz that said ”how great it will feel when … we make our next Speaker of the House Donald J. Trump.”

Rumors have been circulating that Trump would be interested in being Speaker of the House, something he did not dispel when he talked to conservative radio host Wayne Allen Root.

Radio host Wayne Allen Root suggested Trump campaigning for a spot in the House of Representatives before taking on the challenge of winning back the White House in 2024 during an interview the two had in June, The Daily Mail reported.

“Why not, instead of waiting for 2024, and I’m hoping you’ll run in 2024, but why not run in 2022 for the United States Congress? A House seat in Florida. Win big. Lead us to a dramatic landslide victory. Take the House by 50 seats,” the host said.

“Then you become the speaker of the House, lead the impeachment of Biden and start criminal investigations against Biden,” he said. “You’ll wipe him out for this last two years.”

“That’s so interesting,” the 45th President of the United States said. “You know, it’s very interesting.”

An impeachment could not only thwart Biden’s agenda for his last two years but, if successful, could remove him from the White House.

He said that some of his advisors suggested that he campaign to be a senator but he liked the idea of being Speaker.

“But you know what, your idea might be better. It’s very interesting,” he said.

The idea was first thought of by Steve Bannon who mentioned it to Republicans in Boston in February.

“We totally get rid of Nancy Pelosi, and the first act of President Trump as Speaker will be to impeach Joe Biden for his illegitimate activities of stealing the presidency,” he said.

But the notion that trump would want to be Speaker was nixed by his former spokesman, Jason Miller, The Washington Examiner reported.

Former President Donald Trump had left the door on becoming speaker of the House open, but his spokesman shut that scenario down.

Jason Miller, the former president’s outgoing spokesman, said Trump “has zero desire to be speaker.” Prior to Miller’s pushback, the former commander in chief called the possibility of becoming the next speaker, should Republicans take back the majority in 2022, “so interesting.”

But Trump could change his mind, and we have not heard him say that he would not want to be Speaker. That is why the Democrats want to get ahead of it.

But imagine the confrontations Trump and Joe Biden would have between 2022 and 2024, when many believe Trump will campaign again to be president, if he was Speaker.
